Sahar Taklimi, is a founding member of the Laces dance crew in Sweden. She is also a member of Verbnation (JA), Unrulyswe (SWE) and Danca Family (NY).
Identifying herself as raised by hip hop, and married to dancehall, Sahar started her dancing journey training in various styles, but mainly within the hip hop genre. To immerse herself in different dance styles, she took her training to the Broadway Dance Center in New York City in 2008. Since then she has been working as a professional dancer through multiple countries. With hip hop as foundation, she started to dig deeper into the dancehall culture in 2010 and has trained with the biggest dancers in the dancehall scene, traveling to Jamaica, New York and through Europe to do so. Sahar, together with her Laces crew, have taken part in the development of a fusion dance called “Afro-Caribbean Fusion” – a mix of Jamaican dancehall and various west and central African dances.
During her career, she’s been teaching, traveling and studying in different parts of the world; South Korea, England, and India to name a few. Furthermore she has produced and choreographed the first theater show in Sweden based on Afro-Caribbean Fusion called “Passworld” with her Laces crew. Sahar is continuously working on new cultural projects worldwide.
